Wyndham Knoll; Redmond

Wyndham Knoll is one of a few exclusive neighborhoods on the Eastside. It is a premier neighborhood that was featured on the "Street of Dreams" in the early 1990s, where prominent builders showcased their most lavish work and custom designs. With only 35 homes, this community enjoys the close neighborhood feeling of days gone by. Wyndham Knoll is located in an area called English Hill. With individual entrances, Wyndham Knoll North and Wyndham Knoll South are separated by the two-lane road that connects English Hill with arteries that flow into several different towns.

As you approach the entrance and make your way down the broad, tree-lined street, you are immediately impressed with the differing styles of architecture and building materials. From castle rock to stone and stucco, each home is uniquely different, each with a commanding street presence and a personality all its own. The interiors of these fine homes are of the same caliber finish-work, boasting features such as volume, two-story foyers with marble, floating staircases, extensive millwork, cherry woods and granite, Juliet balconies, and home theaters. Ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 square feet, these homes are some of the finest on the Eastside.

One of the main attractions of this neighborhood is its centralized location in Redmond. Wyndham Knoll offers a convenient commute to all businesses and services, both to the north and to the south. If you head west out of the community, you will be on the 405 freeway (which runs from the Sea-Tac Airport to Everett and connects to the 5, 520, and 522 interchanges) in ten minutes. In this same direction, also ten minutes away is Evergreen Community Hospital in the Totem Lake area of Kirkland. Continue on for another five minutes and you are in popular downtown Kirkland with its many trendy traitorous, coffee bars, and breweries. Heading east out of the neighborhood, then south down the boulevard, you will reach downtown Redmond in about 13 minutes. Besides being home to the state's largest employer, Microsoft, Redmond has become the town of choice for dining, shopping, and movie-going at its new Redmond Town Center. A new concept in malls, Redmond Town Center has become one of the most popular destinations for both fun and business.

Other big draws to this high-end neighborhood are the schools it is served by. The elementary school is the well-known and highly sought-after Laura Ingalls Wilder, located about a five-minute bus ride away, down a two-lane country road. Wilder Elementary offers gifted programs and is committed to teaching all children through its very involved parent and teacher organization. Evergreen is the junior high located about 10-13 minutes away on Union Hill Road, and the high school is Redmond High on Education Hill, approximately 10 minutes down the boulevard.
